Want a cute, light-weight jacket to cover your shoulders in
the summer sun? Or perhaps a silky addition to an outfit when cardigans are too
heavy, and wearing long-sleeves in summer feels a bit strange?
Then Kimono jackets are the thing for you.
They’re a cross between traditional kimono and pyjama robe
yet are super chic, and super comfortable.
Kimono jacket’s first made an appearance on the
spring/summer 2011 runways of several designers, mainly L’Wren Scott, Dries Van
Nouten and Haider Ackermann.
Their shows featured billowy
styles with a dramatic twist, that gave a really chic effect.

Soon high-street brand caught on and have evolved the trend
into these easy-breezy items, that I can’t get enough of. You can find them in shops online and on the high-street, e.g Lipsy, New-Look, ASOS, eBay, Goddiva etc.
I have mainly seen the jacket accompanying a fairly simple,
yet often stunning look of denim shorts and a crop top, or short dresses- for those
summer nights. I personally think these are very versatile and can be worn for both
evening and day-time events.
What do you wear these jackets, what do you think: love them, like them, hate them?
